Numerous, LARGE and richly clustered, canary-yellow crystals of Jouravskite cover the surface of this small cabinet piece from the Kalahari Manganese Fields. This is an exceptional piece for the species with over a dozen, tabular, transparent to translucent, vibrant yellow crystals to 1.2 cm across randomly oriented and scattered across the piece with dozens of smaller Jouravskite crystals and clusters filling the interstices between the larger crystals and covering the remainder of the matrix! The bright yellow color is heightened by the white Oyelite crystal underneath the Jouravskite that can be observed locally between the Jouravskite crystals and along the periphery of the piece. There is also a pink layer of Kutnohorite and/or Rhodochrosite underneath the Oyelite for additional color contrast. For added color contrast, all of the above-mentioned minerals are set on a dark, charcoal gray matrix of coarse granular Manganite ore! This is from one small pocket a few years ago in 2017, that is by FAR the best of species known (and which we acquired nearly the full contents of).
