Aquamarines from this famous Brazilian pegmatite locality are known for their gemminess , intense color and complex etching. This piece is no exception and exhibits complicated etching at one termination and is completely gem throughout its 6 cm length! It exhibits a pleasing sea foam blue color and sits nicely in its custom acrylic base. The opposing termination has been sawn and polished which is the end that sits in the base. A brilliant Aquamarine from the Jaqueto pegmatite in the Bahia State of Brazil - from one of the few actual pockets among hundreds, with a "name" that has resonated in collector memory for decades. From the 1990s.
