Sea-green, translucent smithsonite crystals aesthetically cover gossan matrix and are beautifully accented with glassy hemimorphite needles and sulfides on this excellent specimen from the Potosi Mine at Santa Eulalia, Mexico. The centrally located trigonal smithsonite and two pineapple-shaped smithsonites, immediately below, with tiny, porcupine-like, smithsonite needles really set this fine piece off. This small find caused a major stir at shows about 10 years ago. Ex. George Elling Collection.
