Lustrous and gemmy, these two unusually isolated clusters of copper-rich Adamite on Calcite are from the Christiana Mine in Lavrion. The largest cluster is 1.4 cm across, and the very high luster really allows you to appreciate the soft green color and the gemminess. But most of all, the luster allows you to better see the radial growth which is so classic for many top specimens of Adamite from other locales yet rare for Greek material. The Adamites have the well-known, and eye-catching, neon-green fluorescence. Sitting on top of microcrystalline white Calcite, the contrast creates a lovely aesthetic that is both stark and simple. Collected in 2020.
