A beautiful, sculptural specimen of bright metallic hematite from the famous Cumberland mines of the mid to late 1800s; and this is complet all around as well. In one of those weird traveling stories, it was obtained in trade by Terry Szenics from the School of Mines in Copiapo, Chile - though it was mined 100 years before on the opposite side of the world! It has been slightly buffed, I am sure, to enhance the brightness and rounded look. 6 x 4.2 x 3.3 cm
