Rarely do we see groups of Aquamarine crystals from Medina, and this is a unique and choice miniature (again, fitting with the aesthetic taste of the Gioia collection). The cluster is comprised of one 5 cm and one 3 cm component, both exhibiting a delicate sky-blue color. They are connected near the base and both crystals are gem throughout the top two-thirds of the crystals, with the bases of them being less translucent. Minor, natural internal crazing parallel to the length of the crystals adds additional elegance to the piece. It's also interesting to note that the smaller, robust crystal has a hollowed out end at its base from dissolution in the pegmatite pocket; and the other crystal also has indications of this same feature, but is obscured by pocket clay (Kaolinite).
