This crystal shows more clearly than you normally see, interesting growth features from tectonic breaking and re-annealing in the pocket as the crystal grew. A crack midway through the crystal shows where it came apart in situ, and then further crystal growth at the same time glued it back together in the pocket! It is a sharp single crystal specimen of beryl showing gemmy blue atop a rich pink body, which is a color pattern we do not often see. The back is contacted and somewhat diagonal, but complete. This specimen, from a small find of early 2014, is a full small cabinet size and impressive in person. The blue zone is over 1 cm thick, and is no "thin line" of color from one angle, as sometimes can happen. This is obvious and dramatic color!
