Clearly, the black chlorite schist contrasts beautifully with the glassy and gemmy, colorless albite crystals which are aesthetically perched on top of the matrix. The largest crystal measures 2 cm in length, and is also exquisitely twinned. All exhibit pearlescent luster - these are hard to believe as feldspar as opposed to some kind of freaky-lustrous gem crystals or brilliant topaz. This specimen has one crystal with a seemingly old cleavage or contact, but the rest are all there, we think. Simply Wonderful aesthetics and brilliant luster make this dramatic small cab one of the best of the lot. It is a feldspar, that can hold its own in any collection of fancier species, and we believe this to be one of the finest of the lot and an important American mineral specimen.
