Sharp crystals with a good yellow color, to 9 mm in size, make this a rare locality and an important rarity piece. Note label dated 1835 PREDATES the identification of stolzite, which was actually discovered on material from this locality mislabeled as scheelite or wulfenite. While both occur here, this elongated habit is indicative of the stolzite, and the timing is right as the material was collected at this time. In 1845, stolzite was recognized as a species and remains the only species first identified from this very prolific locality.
