A well-formed, blue, American Topaz specimen from the ZAPOT MINE in middle-of-nowhere, Nevada. This 165 gram Topaz is gemmier than it appears, and the color is a very nice shade of medium to light blue. The luster is good to excellent, and one face has a series of fine, triangular stepped faces, which is a fantastic detail. A bonus is that this gem has an intriguing golden fluorescence. Naturally, there is some crystal contacting in the back (nicely formed), and the base is cleaved, of course. This is very likely from the spectacular Trick or Treat Pocket of October, 1999. Really quite an amazing specimen, and no more have been found since! ex. Harvey Gordon.
