What more should we say about a huge, single crystal of Jonas Mine tourmaline? You can search around and almost never find one for sale in a given year, let alone in this size and robustness. This single 1978 pocket is the most famous tourmaline find in history, to most people (or, up there only with the California bluecaps of 1972). This crystal is a proportional, dramatic, classic example of the style with a complex termination, excellent luster, and a cluster of sidecar crystals to give accents to the main crystal. The smaller crystals are intact, with a few contacts where they grew against something else. The overall piece is therefore 360 degrees, complete all around. A major crystal, standing tall and proud in any case, at 188 grams.
