Classic combination of rich, cherry-red Cinnabar resting on a bed of bone-white Dolomite crystals, from the best location for cinnabar crystals in recent years. The 2.1 cm-long Cinnabar crystal has a tabular habit, which is on the less-common side, and the mirror-like, metallic luster is outstanding. The luster is so good, in fact, that the reflections of the Dolomites on the smooth face create a very artistic 'mountain within mountains' scene. With transmitted backlighting, the Cinnabar glows a brilliant red. Either way you light it, the aesthetics of this very fine large miniature are excellent.
