The Gray Horse is an old and little-known locality that goes back nearly a century. It was a source of vanadium, molybdenum, tungsten and chromium in oxidized lead deposits. If you are adventurous, you can still get up to the mine workings and find some things, though it is not easy. Many collectors have never seen anything at all from this mine - you just do not see them on the market. These are little translucent, bright red, barrel-shaped vanadinite crystals on a bed of calcite crystals.
