This nearly 300-gram mass of intergrown emeralds is a very significant locality specimen simply for the size and color impact of having so much pure emerald in one place. It has really rich, deep green color, unusually good for this Brazilian material, actually. These are chemically or physically removed from surrounding matrix, and this piece probably had a top layer of calcite removed, and was contacted to schist on the bottom (its backside, on which schist still remains) .
