This gold specimen is totally crystalline, comprised of cubes and crudely developed octahedrons, exhibiting hopper growth. The gold is fairly bright and light in color, possibly indicating a partial silver content (i.e. electrum). It also has high luster. The largest crystal is .5 cm in length. Crystallized gold in this quality, with such thick, stocky crystals, is rare from anywhere, particularly here. So, this is really a very exquisite Nevada gold!
