Rhombohedral crystals of glassy and gemmy calcite grew over a knob of matrix here. The large, colorless crystal is 5.0 cm across. This specimen was from the collection of James E. Moresby White. Having grown up collecting the quarries in the area, I can tell you this is EXCEPTIONAL in quality for the condition, the glassiness, and the shocking luster. Ex. Carnegie Museum Collection.
