An uncommon combination piece that is unusual both for the association itself and the botryoidal habit of the Smithsonite, which is really weird for Tsumeb! I've seen very few from Tsumeb quite like it, with this particular form and buff-colored tint. The largest "ball" is 2 cm across. The Smithsonite is decorated with dozens upon dozens of euhedral Mimetites. These hexagonal Mimetites are lustrous, translucent to gemmy, and up to about 0.2-0.3 cm. Interesting, to be sure, and attractive in its own way. This pocket dates back to the 1920's, we were told by Marshall Sussman from whom I bought it.
