We have seen literally tons of Elmwood sphalerite but THIS flowery and sparkly specimen stands out. It is a dramatic upright cluster of impressive, large Sphalerite crystals from the famous Elmwood Mine. The Sphalerites are super lustrous and gemmy, but they are so large that the light has to work to get through so you can see the Ruby Jack nature of the crystals. The largest Sphalerite is about 4 cm, and it is surrounded near the bottom by numerous smaller Sphalerites, all well-crystallized. There might even be some subtle twinning in the crystals. The matrix below is blanketed by 2-3 mm grey Dolomite crystals, making this an aesthetic, high-quality combination piece. From an old East Coast collection.
