A very SHOWY and EXCELLENT CABINET specimen of glassy, colorless calcite scalenohedrons and a couple of unusual tabular calcite crystals. This fine piece looks like classic English material, but is, in fact from Arizona! An uncommon locality, at that, the Portland Mine of Mohave County. The porphyritic matrix is the telltale feature. Beautiful, old-time and essentially pristine material from the George Elling Collection. This is the finest, non-Bisbee, Arizona calcite, that I have seen. SELDOM on the market in this quality, from this locality.
