An absolute gem of a Calcite, this is a very fine crystal from the Denton Mine. The upper half of the Calcite is gem clear, and with a nice honey color, it simply glows in the light. The luster is equally superb, and the association with gemmy Ruby Jack Sphalerites and etched Fluorites is an interesting one. There is one ding along one edge, but considering the overall beauty of this miniature and the fact that is was mined way back in 1981, I find that it really doesn't mar the aesthetics or my consideration of the piece. Even better and much more gemmy, in person. RCL 1310
