A superb and aesthetic vanadinite specimen from the classic, but now hard to obtain source of the San Carlos Mine of Chihuahua, Mexico. Sharp, isolated, elongated, orange vanadinite prisms to 1.2 cm strikingly cover the gossan crust and are seriously complimented by the starkly contrast calcite. I particularly like the way the largest crystals are at the top of the piece. These came out in the 1970s and 1970s, with none since. Ex. Jaime Bird Collection.
