From the traprocks (basalt flows) of the First Watchung Mountains comes this doubly terminated, glassy, prism of natrolite. These were plentiful in the heyday of the trap rock quarries, but are much harder to find in good crystals today. This is likely an older specimen and it is superb for the gemminess, clarity, and sheer size. Crstals of this caliber are extremely uncommon and rank among best of species, in my opinion, because of the transparency that is so rare in natrolite 7.4 x 1.6 x 1.6 cm
