I had never heard of this material, which is a variety of dolomite. A banded, green sinter dolomite, owing its color to minor contents of nickel (0.1-0.3% NiO) and iron (0.75-6% FeO). The material is used for carving. Indeed, this is a very attractive slab, polished on one side.
