A "windowpane" classic! A sharp, gemmy, 3 x 2 x 0.5 mm crystal is perched on beautiful bubbly white calcite here, on this unique old time specimen. I have seen only a very few such wulfenites, all from old collections and noted to be from the early 1900s. This style and color together are unique - and were not found in modern times. The piece is complete all around and so is the crystal, though it has some inclusions of calcite going up into it (which actually is quite interesting as an accent). I believe I have seen or handled only 4 of these in my time, and I am proud to have this one now. It is from the wulfenite collection of Caroline Martaud, of France, and she purchased it from a previous collector named Pierre Choulot in 1978. He got it from the well known collection of Gerard Pallix in 1976, and it predates that by quite a bit. So this is a very old, very rare example of an old wulfenite style from the mine, with a great history.
