A large, attractive, partially gemmy, cranberry-red Spinel crystal from Luc Yen in Vietnam. This specimen has good luster, nice color, and a complex, modified octahedral crystal form, with two corners that have been partially worn or simply contacted while growing in place. The various gem tracts around Luc Yen have produced some significant spinel crystals, impressive for anywhere. Weighs 28 grams.
