There are two cool things about this specimen. The first, of course, is the lone, isolated spessartine garnet (0.7 m) that grew right on the side of the schorl. The second is that this is from the Little Three Mine, dear to many collectors hearts and from which very little material comes available on the market. The schorl is doubly-terminated and has good luster!
