Although cavansite might seem common, exceptional pieces are definitely not common at all and here we have an elegant, elongated, perfect small cabinet piece of Cavansite on Stilbite from the noted Wagholi Quarries of India. The aesthetic piece features several loosely clustered balls of Cavansite all displaying the absolutely deepest royal blue color that individually measure about 1.5 cm across ; and the large cluster of four that are front-and-center on the piece measures 2.8 cm across at the widest point. They have grown on numerous, finely crystalline balls of tawny colored Stilbite and there are several white Stilbite crystals to 1 cm strategically placed on the piece and this makes all the difference between this specimen and others which might have colorful groups of the same size on rock or on smaller stilbites. The contrast here is much more impactful and rare. The teal-blue color of the Cavansite is intense and they are translucent at the edges which makes them glow under any lighting conditions. The Cavansite groups are isolated enough to provide great balance and composition for the piece. In addition to being incredibly colorful, Cavansite. Cavansite interesting chemically too as it is a hydrated calcium-vanadium silicate. This is a magnificent piece from older finds near to the city of Mumbai (pre-2010).
