Gemmy, extremely lustrous, multicolored orange and green uvite crystals (a member of the tourmaline group) form the matrix for a light, gemmy, lavender-colored, magnesite rhomb. I have never seen a lavender color to these - usually they are clean white. The contrast is striking! The uvites reach.5 cm and the magnesite is 3 cm across. Minor, lower right side edge wear on the magnesite does not affect the overall aesthetics of the specimen. This piece is but one example of the incredible Brumado deposit which has produced great emeralds, hematite and novacekite, just to name a few.
