Mordenite is one of the rarer members of the zeolite group of minerals. The mordenite here has formed fine sprays of radial acicular crystal clusters that look like giant snowballs; together, they measure 14 cm across. The stilbite matrix has been wonderfully (and laboriously) trimmed underneath and around the sides to make a perfect setting for the two mordenite balls.
