What makes this Tsumeb dioptase specimen so gorgeous is that the small, intensely sparkling crystals are isolated on the contrasting white calcite rather than being massed together - which really makes them jump out at you. Of course, ALL Tsumeb dioptases are now highly sought-after - they and azurites are probably THE stars of this famous locality which probably ranks as the most productive of great specimens in history.
