This is quite simply the finest thumbnail example of the material I have ever seen, with unusually thick crystals! Marcasite from this locality is an old classic, considered important for the crystal form and symmetry so vividly illustrated and shown frequently in old mineral books. Most are slender (especially in this size range) but this piece has a major crystal that is 1 cm thick perched amongst flanking crystals of more typical size. It is not repaired but some cracking has been stabilized in back by glue, by the previous collector. 3.3 x 3 x 1.8 cm
