A 1.2 cm high, partially gemmy, free-standing benitoite crystal dominates this excellent, richly covered benitoite specimen from the famous and now-closed Dallas Gem Mine. The largest benitoite is 1.6 cm and a couple of neptunites are a nice accent. This is classic, showy, old-time, highly representative material that is not diminished by the minor edge wear on most of the major benitoites. Despite this minor edge wear, it is overall a visually impressive piece with robust color and contrast, and lots more 3-dimensionality than usual. Ex. John Ydren Collection.
