The remote mountains of the Canadian Yukon serve as one of the world's finest destinations for crystals of this species. Lazulite, in large rich plates like this, is harder and harder to find on the market today. Most were found over 20 years ago, in the 1970s and 1980s, by dealers like Rod Tyson and a very few others only, who helicoptered in and would spend weeks out there. This is a large, sparkling, showy plate of good crystals with almost no damage, remarkable for the size. Ex Dr. Wouter van Tichelen Collection
