Wulfenite, a lead molybdate, is one of the most highly desired mineral species from the Mammoth District, which has produced 108 valid minerals. This attractive cluster is classic for the location. The layered crystals have very good luster, a fiery yellow-orange color in the smaller crystals, and sharp, beveled edges. There are also small, yellow-orange Mimetites to 1 mm that decorate the Wulfies and add great interest to the piece. The largest crystal, which is partially included, is 1.6 cm across. Even with the ding on one corner, this thumbnail is quite appealing and desirable, not only for the color and clarity, but for the size as well. Fine aesthetics.
