This large, sculptural and dramatic specimen of native copper was formed when the rock around which the copper had solidified was later etched away by corrosive solutions, leaving just the copper itself and a little bit of the rock remaining. As you can see, it has a pretty luster and is wonderfully 3-dimensional.
