From the premier US locality for ludlamite, this matrix specimen is a plate of intergrown, gemmy, olive green crystals averaging .25 cm across. They have superb euhedral form, are translucent and sharp. Ludlamite from this locale is world-known as among the best crystals of the species for those characteristics. The large plate looks dark in the photo - it is more appealing in person, with a color like green olives.
