This is a little jewel, a superb, full-sized miniature from one of the two most famous tourmaline finds of all time, the 1978 Jonas pocket. Actually, few good miniature sized clusters are available today - I have seen lots of larger examples, and larger clusters, but few miniature size class pieces. These are treasures, traded from collector to collector like a prized heirloom, and there are simply too few out there to satisfy the market. I buy every good one I can get. Examples like this, if on 5 cents of lepidolite matrix, would be worth ten times the price. However, even if not on matrix, this one IS a floater - it is complete all around! And it has riveting, intense color and luster, as you would want for this famous pocket. I think in most people's time collecting they will simply never have a chance to own a good Jonas, much less in an affordable price range given that most of them go for high five and six figure prices nowadays. I am proud to be able to offer one for this price range that is really a competition-level full miniature in size. Joe Budd Photos.
