I particularly like this matrix piece because the lazulite crystals are shaped 3-dimensionally as if this were a hand, closing, and so they are very dramatically presented. The crystals, to 1.2 cm across, are gemmy, lustrous, and have that unusual bicoloration of royal blue and emerald green. There also appears to be less peripheral contact to this on than to other plates, indicating this was part of a carefully removed vug. Superb miniature!
