A very unusual specimen! Wire gold is rare from ANY LOCALITY but especially so from the US. Old localities here include those in Colorado and a very few places in California. This spectacular wire, 3 inches long if you unbend and extend it, is one of the finest of its type I have seen from any California locale. The size is exceptional, and so is the brightness.
