This is another unique Tsumeb calcite specimen from my own collection, purchased when I was visiting Marshall Sussman in Chicago in the mid 1990s. Perched exquisitely on light green duftite and a thin layer of dolomite are a few glassy and gemmy, colorless calcite rhombohedrons, highlighted by an incredible one measuring 4 cm on an edge. The back of the specimen is a curving plate of dolomite pseudomorphed after small disc-shaped calcites arranged in parallel. A fine old classic of the best Tsumeb calcite style, the sharp rhomb, with exceptional luster! Ex. Marshall Sussman Tsumeb collection, from his fabulous and most important first collection built in Chicago.
