The miners at the great Bisbee locality saved fine specimens of calcite starting very early, admiring them for their variety and beauty (and of course they had no ore value so it was no skin of anyone's back). This is a beautiful floater cluster of sharp, hexagonal platy crystals, bi-colored due to iron-staining on their faces which adds an attractive contrast with the edges. There are some little dings here and there, but the specimen is overall in good shape. From the Marion Stuart collection.
