A trio of three stout, sharp and attractive Aquamarine crystals sport unique Heliodor caps on this aesthetic (large) miniature, from the Erongo Mountains of Namibia. These unique Aquamarine/Heliodor crystals were from a limited find about a decade ago from pegmatites in the Erongo Region and have not been duplicated since. A good three-quarters of each hexagonal crystal column consists of translucent medium blue Aquamarine displaying natural, longitudinal, internal crazing that results in almost a schiller effect that catches and reflects light internally, especially at the exterior of the crystal faces. The Aquamarine portion is capped by an 8 mm thick, saturated green-yellow, translucent to transparent cap that really sets these crystals off! The crystals range in size from 3 to 5 cm in length and there is a fourth small (2 cm) crystal that sits at the base of the other three. The three crystals are nicely terminated with the one in the middle having a bit of altered Feldspar on the back edge. It sits perfectly on its own for display. Crystal Cellar label from when Marshall Sussman and I split the purchase of the Charlie Key collection (about circa 2011), from where this came. I am not sure who owned it in the decade or so, since then, but it came back to me. It is a really different style, like none other we have seen from Erongo, or anywhere.
