Copper in Calcite from the Quincy Mine has become one of the true American mineral classics, notable both for rarity and for the nice color combination. This large, small-cabinet cluster is particularly rich, with Copper evident throughout a hefty portion of the Calcite. The main Calcite crystal, at 2.8 cm, sits prominently at the top of the specimen. This crystal does have a regrettable ding on it (slight damage to the left), but the aesthetics and desirability of the piece remain good for the size and price range. especially in light of the fact of how rare decent pieces of these highly-desired specimens are. This is generally old material, with most specimens dating to the late 1800s or early 1900s.
