Easily one of the most impressive large brazilianites around the market today, this large, fine crystal is also very glassy and has intense saturated color - the BEST color, in fact. It is typical of the color of the major crystals from the type find, by Peter Bancroft in the 1940s (as related in his book). The color is simply UNIQUE - you have to see them in person, if you have not yet, to appreciate it. The crystal is accompanied by two old labels from European collections dated early 1960s and 1980, when it came into the collection of Dr Francesco Bedogne. Brazilianite from the old 1940s finds of the so-called Bancroft era of gem exploration in Brazil still sets the standard. There is nothing like these, to this day, despite finds of the species elsewhere. This crystal has the top color, transparency, and luster you would want and is from these original finds (the style is so completely different from any other style of the species later found elsewhere, that there is simply no question as to what is real and what is not, in this regard).
