These richly pink Fluorapophyllite crystals are highly unusual, and this combination specimen with Calcite is overall excellent for the oldest classic locality for the species. The pearly to vitreous luster of the Fluorapophyllites is top-notch, and the well-formed, largest crystal is 1.2 cm across. As you can see from the photos, some of the small Calcites are gemmy and nicely crystallized. These specimens from the Samson Mine date to the 1800s, so to have this specimen survive, and in such good condition, is fortunate to say the least. A highly desirable and aesthetic small cab of display quality! Ex Scott Williams personal collection to Kay at the Long Beach show in 1960. Her label notes that he said it was from a dealer in Berlin, before him, but I cannot make out the name and we are still searching for that older label.
