A large plate of piled-up towers of pink "pagoda" calcite from a find about two years ago. The delicate pastel pink color is from manganese content. These crystal "towers" are made up of many individual, flat pyramidal crystals that grow atop one another. With this specimen, the towers have grown as high as 5 cm above the matrix; this specimen is pretty much all made up of crystals.
