This is a gorgeous, rich, medium blue Aquamarine crystal from the historic gem pegmatites of Vietnam. This beauty is etched and striated parallel to its length and measures four and a quarter inches from tip to gorgeous tip. This Aqua is completely gem except around the "waist" of the crystal located three quarters of the way down. This is a large and very high quality crystal from this locality with very few pieces originating from here having these exceptional characteristics. It's reported that these crystals, along with other localities in Vietnam, originate from deeply weathered pegmatite and these are found loose on the surface or encased in clay. This glamorous Aqua has stunning color and very aesthetic attributes! 48.2g in mass, and in remarkable condition for this material. It glows, like blue blown glass, with a brightness simply beyond its counterparts from Pakistan or Brazil. It is difficult to convey this in photos, but it is just "sparklier." Purchased directly from the miners from a recent production.
