Pair of well-formed and euhedral Spinel crystals from MacDonald Island in the Nunavut Territories. The Spinels have a silky luster and a very complex habit, and the largest crystal is about 1.6 cm across. The color is a deep blue-black. These two Spinels rest on a matrix of bladed, white Diopside crystals - micro to several mm. This is an attractive and uncommon Canadian Spinel from a classic locale now long gone.
