A superb sherry colored, 4.5cm gem crystal of danburite from Madagascar. It has a vitreous to satin luster and is complete and undamaged with a perfect termination. This is probably from the late 1970's finds at the Anjanabonoina pegmatite in the Betafo district. The backside of the crystal has a thin film of clay (?) that results in accenting the color of the crystal. Difficult to obtain these fine crystals today.
