Mimetite has been one of Tsumeb's more famous species, and styles have ranged from gemmy hexagonal barrels to large and lustrous 'rice grains'. This specimen is unusual in that it has gorgeous, flowery clusters of yellow-orange, "cauliflower-like" Mimetites, some of which range up to 1.2 cm. These Mimetite crystals attractively cover the matrix, and they have a beautiful, sparkly luster. This is a terrific example of an unusual habit for Tsumeb Mimetites. It is a heavy specimen, sitting on ore matrix. The piece, in person, is very three-dimensional and has great depth of view.
